product management, commercialisation and proposition expert, Ian has over 25
years experience in the industry
- Since 2016 Ian has been an international transaction banking consultant focused
on meeting client need and helping business prosper. Specialisms include
product commercialisation, best practice advisory, liquidity and working
capital optimisation, market and regulatory change management, training design
and delivery. Recent assignments have included 15 months with a leading UK
Commercial Bank. Here he successfully led, in collaboration with Fin Techs and
Big 4 consultancies, agile working scrums and hackathons to create new open
banking client information and insight propositions. Ian is also a faculty
member of Moneta Development Limited covering product commercialisation
training
- During his career Ian has also held
management positions in product management and commercialisation with Lloyds
Banking Group, Standard Chartered Bank Plc,
American Express Europe, and 14 years at HSBC Bank Plc. At HSBC Ian
specialised in liquidity management, treasury centralisation, and working
capital optimisation propositions for corporates. During this time, he was
responsible for the successful launch and growth of the banks flagship global
liquidity solution suite, development of CLS third party bank and corporate
propositions, and creation of treasury centralisation/shared service centre
packages. This culminated in Ian being appointed as the Regional Head of
Commercialisation and Market Management within the Payments and Cash Management
business Europe, where he led a team of 7 proposition managers
- Throughout his career Ian has undertaken
extensive client consultancy and solutioning with corporate treasurers, and has
wide experience of designing and delivering transaction banking training to
middle and front office staff around the world
- Ian has spoken regularly at industry
events and has had editorials published in a variety of industry publications
including Euromoney, Treasury Today and The Treasurers Handbook. He holds an
honours degree from the University of Buckingham, is an Associate of The
Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds the Cert ICM from the ACT
